These are details of paintings in which I mixed oil
and damar varnish in thin veils of color. It reminded
me of ceramic glazes on low-fire earthenware, a
kind of pottery that in Japan is referred to as
"Raku-yaki" I made this kind of pottery through the
1970's and thought the effect was quite similar.
