What I mean by “reduced” to teaching, is that it has always been clear to me that my teachers would have been just as happy to stay in their own studios and work, but of course they needed a salary. I’m not saying professional artists, rather than professional teachers, have the advantage, but clearly, teachers are more likely to train teachers, artists to train artists. It’s a trend, not a rule.
