I encouraged her to share a CD with me they made several years ago and I found she had an excellent voice.? As I said in my last blog, I always encourage people to sing as they are so moved.? Some people have a natural tendency to silence others who feel like singing, discouraging them on the grounds that they are not &#8220;professionals&#8221; and that their skills are not up to such a standard.? Nonsense, I say, &#8220;A lot of professional singers should stop and listen for awhile.? They might hear something very creative and genuine.&#8221;? Discouraging others doesn&#8217;t add anything to real creativity.? Encouraging people to express themselves adds more to the general tone of creativity in a culture, not less.<\/p>\n<p>I understand this person went with to a kareoke bar the other night with several of the other sales staff, and they all came in the next day with newfound comraderie, and the young woman I mention was just glowing.? I don&#8217;t know if my occasional encouragement might have helped, but I like to think it could.?
